Legalize the use of marijuana with regulation and taxation

We petition the United States Government to consider legalizing marijuana. The benefits of legalizing marijuana far out weigh the detriments. If marijuana was legalized, regulated and taxed by the United States Government, the proceeds from the taxation could be used toward paying down the national debt, funding the Social Security program, and funding many other programs such as education and healthcare. We believe, that while there are lasting effects from marijuana use, the effects are no worse than the effects of alcohol , cigarette tobacco ,pipe tobacco and cigar tobacco. The marijuana should only be naturally grown marijuana , with no chemical additives, to ensure that the lasting effects are within acceptable limits. Thank you.
