Marijuana relieves symptoms of many illnesses which cannot be alleviated through prescription medicines. Medicinal marijuana should be legal in ALL 50 states. In addition, more research should be conducted regarding its many medicinal benefits, including cancer. Genetically engineering strains of cannabis to treat certain conditions are known to be possible. It is negligent if the US does not remove the restrictions to allow all states access to medical marijuana as well as immediately conducting more trials for the use of cannabis to fight cancer.
