The current system is subjective (and not just for work visas but also turism) and rewards illegal immigration.
Citizens of other countries should be able to apply for temporary work visas that would grant them the right to apply for jobs in the US for pre-established periods of time. The jobs defenders of illegal immigration claim to be open to illegal aliens because "no-one else would do the work" need to be regulated, while allowing legal aliens (that start the process, continue it and finish it abidijg by immigration laws) to have an opportunity in America.
