legally define that marriage is a religious sacrament and civil union is a government contract between two people.

We wish no ill will on anyone who wants to love-just that the distinction be made between the two processes. We ask that the government recognize "marriage" as a religious sacrament between a man and a woman and can only be declared valid by God (or priest, deacon etc), and that a civil union is a government and legal contract between two consenting adults. Simply, we are asking the government to please do not disrespect the term "marriage" by applying it to a union that is absent of the religious meaning that a traditional marriage is suposed to have. We are asking that the government be specific and declare that all non religious unions of people-gay or straight, be referred to as "civil unions".
