Legally distinguish hemp from marijuana, legalize hemp production domestically

Created by J.A. on November 21, 2012

Hemp and marijuana are genetically distinguishable, but hemp is still classified as a controlled substance and it's growth is prohibited domestically despite its lack of THC.

Hemp is profitable.
Passing a Bill to legalize hemp could be a fix for our failing economy, creating non-outsourceable jobs in sectors such as:

food supplements
clothing and textiles
soap and organic cleaning products
strong, natural resin products (to replace synthetic polymers)
sustainable timber

Hemp grows quickly.
Widespread domestic hemp production could aid in reversing the effects of global warming by reducing atmospheric CO2 and increasing oxygen.

It is possible that widespread hemp production could reverse our Nation's Debt and global weather change within a few years.
