Numbers are not constants. If I asked "if you add a group of nine people to a group of 10", the obvious answer is 19. However, what if two people from the group are pregnant and later give birth to 2 children, then you would have 21. Placing a ! After the number would symbolize a number with the ability to duplicate or reduce (in the case of birth or death). 9! + 10 = 21 would be the universal equation that started it all.
