LEGISLATION TO ALLOW DONATIONS FROM STUDENT LOANS TOWARDS SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS

Created by B.K. on September 06, 2012

Legislation to allow anyone who has a student loan be able to donate some portion of their remaining loan towards the Scholarship Funds of their preferred Educational institution(s) and in return an equal amount of money would be deducted from the principle balance of their student loan owed to the Banking institution.

The benefit of this idea is multi-layered:

1) It would divert money and power from the 1% to the 99%;

2) It would open up the flood gates of personal donations to educational institutions during the time when State and Federal assistance is more difficult due to budget cuts/shortfalls;

3) At the minimum it would decrease job losses in the Education sector of the economy and it might even lead to job growth;

4) It would decrease the burden of debt.
