Legislature makng it prohibitive for state and federallly funded Colleges/Universities to evade Affordable Health Act

Created by W.N. on December 24, 2012

Some state and federally funded Universities/Colleges are cutting part-time, or adjunct faculty hours in an effort to evade paying benefits into the Affordable Care Act. These Institutions of Higher Learning should be prohibited from this action as their sustainability is heavily dependent on government sponsored grants and subsidies. Adjunct faculty comprise 60% of all faculty .Not only does this slash incomes for many qualified faculty members, education will suffer as a consequence of losing many dedicated faculty to the private sector. This move violates the spirit of the President's vision for affordable health care.
