Whereas, by overwhelming majorities the citizens of Colorado and Montana have demonstrated their support for amending the Constitution by statewide referendum; and,
Whereas, equating money with speech implies that wealthy and powerful citizens are entitled to more speech than their less fortunate brethren, and;
Whereas, a corporation is a legal construct designed to shield it's principals from liability and clearly not a person, and;
Whereas the President himself has stated his opposition to the Citizens United ruling:
We the undersigned do therefore petition the administration to aid, in every legal and ethical way available to them, the efforts to amend the Constitution to define a person as a human being and allow regulation of campaign finance spending.
