Less Secrecy and More Transparency, Please

Created by M.C. on December 14, 2012

Dear Mister President:

I have grown weary of constantly hearing about state and national "secrets" that must be protected at all cost, to the point that legitimate court cases questioning the unlawful surveillance of innocent citizens are unable to proceed because of such secrets. You were supposed to give us a "transparent" government; that is what you first promised us over four years ago, yet the government is no more transparent now than it was eight years ago. Under your mismanagement, the government has continued and extended the secrecy and whittling-away of the social contract. Never since 1776 has there been a time when this nation's government has less resembled an ethical democracy.

Can you please make your actions - and use of our money - resemble the promises you made to us?
