Let Cherokee, NC become a sovereign nation

For many years Cherokee has had its own laws, police, and even second social security numbers! Therefore Cherokee is almost like its own nation. We know that Cherokee was an Indian reservation given to the Cherokee Indians by the US government, but still they were here first and they deserve a soveirgn state of some kind! They are lacking in infrastructure and education because the US government is holding them back! They lack funding because they are not completely a sovereign nation or because the US government is not giving them enough money and support! The Cherokee people have been oppressed long enough! Please let Cherokee become its own nation! Let there be a nation ruled by Cherokee, the natives of the Smokey Mountains!
