Allowing the measures prescribed in the "fiscal cliff" requirements to proceed may be necessary to force the wealthy to pay their fair share of taxes and curb the excessively bloated defense budget.
Republicans seem to want to protect the wealthy and cut benefits and the social safety net for the remaining 99%. It's time to turn that around. Plus, our defense budget that exceeds the amount budgetted by all of the other countries in the world combined, is grossly bloated and an "overkill". There is plenty of room for cuts there.
So, let's take our lumps and move on.
