Let Honorary Poolee Levi Shirley enlist in the United States Marine Corps

My name is Levi Shirley, I'm the son of retired US Army Sergeant Russell Shirley who served 3 tours in Vietnam, and I am named after a Civil War veteran. Ever since I was 2 I have wanted to serve my country in the military, in one branch or another. For the past 27 months I have been attempting to enlist in the United States Marine Corps, and during that time I have earned the nickname "Honorary Poolee" for the motivation, dedication and commitment I've shown the Corps and my country. All I am asking for is to serve my country the way my father and men like SgtMaj. Dan Daly, LtGen. Lewis B. Puller, and countless others have. I was raised to believe in service before self, and to "ask not what your country can do for you, ask what YOU can do for your country." This is my purpose. Thank you.
