The Common Core is not an effective system for learning. We should not be making our children learn algebra in first grade. To make kids like school we need to teach kids how to learn before we teach content. We are also in the 21st century, kids should be using their resources and this includes technology. Stop being a nation of Luddites and let kids use calculators. Nine times out of ten people working will use a calculator so why can't students.
