Everyone knows that the USPS is bleeding money. Everyone also knows that a person walks to almost every single front door in America six days a week which seems a little insane. Several times the USPS has attempted to propose a one size fits all approach to fix the budget by eliminating Saturday delivery. For some reason people want credit card applications on Saturday.
I propose to LET PEOPLE SELECT WHAT DAYS USPS DELIVERS MAIL. Now this will require more storage of mail on the USPS side but consider if 10% of people opt to receive mail 1 day a week, rather than 6, and it takes on average 1 minute to walk up to a door and find the mail and put it in the box, this would save approximately 48 minutes per route times America! The extra storage wouldn't cost more than delivery hours.
