As of November 9, 2016, it is now officially 5 times that the candidate the majority of Americans chose lost the electoral college, and thus the presidency. The first being John Q. Adams and Andrew Jackson. The most recent before this year was the Bush vs. Gore election, and we all know how well that outcome treated us. How is it that a majority of votes loses the election? America has spoken, and yet, the candidate with less votes has won. This is not fair or just to the hundreds of thousands, or even millions of people, who are the majority, but because of the electoral college, their voices don't matter. A Wyoming vote should not have more power than a Cali vote, nor vice versa, but the former is how it works. A majority saw the dangers this election, but they didn't decide.The EC did.
