Let Northern Michigan become it's own separate state from Lower Michigan.

At one point northern Michigan was a thriving, progressive industrial boom state, in the early 1920's with the ford plant having been moved to Detroit, the alcohol prohibition been put into effect, and mines closing down state wide, Michigan's upper peninsula had begun to flop economically.
Michigan has made quite a rebound from the days of old. and has successfully "rebuilt" it's own inevitable economic downfall.
Lower Michigan is holding the upper peninsula back, we're up on our feet after almost 85 years of struggling as a "state".
we share in to much with Lower Michigan's revenue cuts, and their ever changing tax law policy changes, we have a fairly good employment rate. Most all of our un-employment, comes from Lower Michigan.
