Let the people elect the president by abolishing the Electoral College.

Created by A.S. on December 28, 2012

There are 538 electors. One for every member in congress. The state of Maine is a winner take all state. So if 10,000,000 people vote for one candidate and 10,000,001 vote for another, the first 10 million votes do not count and are only superficial. In most other states electoral votes are done on a district basis. But up to 49.9% of voters in each district in each state can be ignored completely. To scale it down lets say there are 3 districts and each has one elector and a population of merely 10. The first two districts vote 4 for candidate A and 6 for candidate B. The third district has 10 votes for candidate A. B wins with 2 of 3 districts/electors, but A loses with 18 of 30 votes, a simple majority. Stop this madness and lets do a simple direct count for the presidency.
