Stop the ISIS/ISIL war, proxy wars in the Middle East Region and seek approval by the UN Security Council for actions we do wish to take in the region.
ISIL's advances reflect political disarray in the region. They do not reflect an intrinsic or insurmountable military advantage. The recent U.S. bombing, as well as continued drone strikes in other areas, take us farther from real solutions to the political, social and economic problems of the Middle East region.
We call on Congress and the Obama administration to halt the U.S. bombing and instead to call on the Middle East regional powers, under the auspices of the United Nations Security Council, to forge the necessary regional cooperation to defeat ISIL.
