Shareholders should have a say on how companies spend money on influence, such as lobbying and campaign contributions.
Add a section to public filings, Lobbying Disclosure and Analysis, that details spending, including campaign contributions by candidate and issue, PAC contributions, and money spent directly (employees, and contractors/consultants) and indirectly (e.g., trade and business associations) on lobbying.
Also, management should discuss objectives of the company's political spending, how effectiveness of spending on lobbying is evaluated and the candidates and issues the company spends on and how these align with the company's mission statement and values.
Corporations aren't people, they are groups of shareholders who should have a say on play.
