...let Social Security invest its own surplus budget! $2.6 trillion lent to the gov't is ENOUGH! And we can't afford SS?

Created by R.S. on March 16, 2013

Background:
The Social Security Trust Fund is a fund operated by the Social Security Administration into which are paid payroll tax contributions and out of which benefit payments are made. It's the SS checking account.

Each year, when there is excess, it is appropriated by the government in the form of an "IOU" to Social Security.

This is fine, when the US dollar is the world's reserve currency, ie: our credit rating and cultural influence means we are permitted to keep printing new money as we need it.

The Problem?
Foreign governments like China, Kuwait, Germany and Japan lose "fiat" in our dollar and look elsewhere to invest, we are LOSING our status as the reserve currency.

Stop the government from robbing our surplus! Let Social Security determine how to spend its OWN SURPLUS!
