An easy solution to help graduates pay back their loans would be introducing a way that student loans can be paid back to their federal loan servicer with pre-tax dollars. This allows students to contribute significantly more income per paycheck to paying off their loans. Allowing graduates to use pre-tax dollars will decrease an individual's adjusted gross income and can therefore enable us to drop into a lower tax bracket as well, meaning that our tax liability will decrease. A commitment to student loan debt repayment must be made and allowing graduates to use pre-tax income is a solution that allows us to work hard and pay our debts, while contributing more money that would've been taxed then contributed. A reasonable cap similar to the 401(k) maximum could be installed as well.
