American families spend thousands on fuel costs incurred just so they can get to and from work every day. We use post-tax earnings to buy fuel that has a tax built into the price, in effect we are double taxed on every gallon of gas we purchase.
In many areas of the country there is no public transportation available, we are forced to purchase gasoline just as way for us to earn an income that is then taxed by our government.
Electric car owners receive tax breaks and even free refueling as a result of businesses receiving tax incentives for offering free charging. For many Americans it is not feasible to own an electric car, if you live in an apartment or work a far distance from your house you simply cannot use an electric car.
