Let third parties participate in nationally tevised debates.

Created by B.S. on June 15, 2014

Being that recent polls have shown that the majority of the electorate identifies as politically "independent", it is a travesty that only the Democrat and Republican parties are represented in nationally televised Presidential debates.

It is hereby proposed to allow any independent candidate who has qualified for enough states' presidential ballots to have a mathematical possibility of winning to participate in nationally televised presidential debates. Furthermore, the debates should be declared public and taken out of private hands completely.

The system as it is today, violates the right to free speech by effectively silencing the voice of 3rd party candidates who represent the views of a statistical majority of the electorate.
