It is ridiculous that we cannot refinance our student loans to the current interest rates. Millions of Americans were able to refinance their mortgages during throughout the past 5 years, but yet the federal government is crippling students with debt at rates that exceed double current mortgage rates. Let us refinance in the private sector at the very least.
