Recently I became aware that I am no longer allowed to smile for a DMV photo. I'm sorry that this conflicts with the use of my DMV photo for facial recognition software which I don't consent to, but this is a ridiculous request. Hundreds, maybe thousands of people will see your license and a positive photo can help ease tension between people. Maybe if the government was a little less worried about tracking us without our consent and a little more worried about making a positive impression, the world would be a better place. Please let me SMILE in my DMV photo.
