let us take our SS payments and invest ourselves so we get our money, not go into a group fund for everyone

I believe we should be given the right to choose how to invest what is taken out of our checks for Social Security. Give us the option of either continuing to pay into Social Security, or choose to have it invested into our own personal investment account of our choice. The account is for that person only not a group account like social security is now. This will ensure that people who do know how to manage money, care about their future, and work for their money will have more for retirement than just what the government can (more often not) provide. Government gets enough of our money to begin with, I think it is time for people to get theirs.
