The GOP in both chambers seems to be convinced they can hold our feet to the fire because of the middle class portion of the bush tax cuts. They're so convinced democrats will be blamed and the public will hate us if we let the temporary tax cuts expire and that they can frame this as a "Tax hike" but we can remember we had this debate in 2006, 2008, 2010 and every 2 years because these were meant to expire and not last. While Obama toils like crazy to protect the middle class I can still remember my fathers words when they went into affect. "Ah, we saved a whole whoppign 24 dollars on this. That will buy us a gallon of milk. all while bankrupting our nation by giving the wealthy WAY more." So I have a different take on things. If it has to be that way let them ALL expire.
