Annexing the Upper Peninsula would bring more opportunities to Wisconsin. We would have more forests, more mines, and more opportunities for tourism. The population of the Upper Peninsula is only 3% of Michigan's total population. Wisconsin would get access to Lake Huron, and be able to shorten the travel time to the Saint Lawrence Seaway. It does not make sense why the Upper Peninsula is not part of Wisconsin, as the Upper Peninsula does not border Michigan. We shall welcome the people of the Upper Peninsula with open arms.
