Let's get rid of career politicians: no special benefits; no lifetime retirement; limited tenure.

Created by D.G. on December 11, 2012

1. No Tenure/No Pension: A Congressperson collects a salary while in office and receives no pay or pension once out of office. 2. Congress will participate in Social Security; All funds in the Congressional retirement fund will transfer to the Social Security system immediately; they may invest in a private retirement plan, as all Americans can. 4. Congress can no longer vote itself a pay raise; pay raises will be subject to approval by the people. 5. Congress will only be eligible to receive the same health care benefits available to the American worker. 6. Congress must abide by all laws they impose on the American people. 7. By the end of the Fiscal Year 2013, all benefits provided members of Congress will reflect the preceding changes and all existing retirement payments will end.
