Let's have a nationally televised debate on the subject of drug prohibition.

Created by D.T. on December 07, 2011

It is clear by now that the American public has a great interest in discussing the viability of the Drug War.

The highest voted petitions(by far) on this site, a recent national Gallup poll(showing 50% support for marijuana legalization), and programs such as "Marijuana, Inc."(CNBS's most viewed documentary of all time), demonstrate that the American people are concerned with the current state of affairs regarding drug prohibition. Obama himself said it is high time we had this discussion, so let's have it.

And to this end, I propose a national debate on the subject of drug prohibition.

As the perpetuators of the current policies, the federal government will be responsible for choosing a "Pro " panel, and we, the people, will hold an online election for an "Anti" one.
