New York States ban on Hydrofracking has not gone far enough and now one of its beautiful lakes is at risk- Seneca Lake, up by Watkins Glen NY is going to be used for storage for natural gas from hydro-fracking being done in Pennsylvania by a Texas Corporation called Crestwood Midstream. They will be storing 2 billion cubic feet of gas. Underneath this 617 ft deep lake are salt caverns that will be used for the storage spot for all the natural gas. Seneca lake is the largest glacial finger lake in NY, is known for its wineries, and has been known to be the lake trout capital of the world! This storage could potentially be dangerous and destroy Seneca Lake by ending clean drinking water, killing all of the fish with natural gas leaks, and possibly even drying out the entire lake
