We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Let's Really Drain the Swamp and bar major donors from cabinet positions

Created by J.B. on December 08, 2016

Many agree there is already too much money in politics. Elected officials end up being beholden to special interests instead of their constituents due to the massive amounts of money funneled into their campaigns and related PACs. The office of the President is no exception to this. Let's call on Congress to enact legislation to bar any individual from serving in a cabinet position that has donated in excess of $100,000 to a candidates campaign and/or related, supportive PACs unless they receive at least 3/4 of the Senate confirming their appointment. While acknowledging this could adversely impact the quality of the available appointees, exceptions can be made for members of a candidate campaign team, which could still follow standard confirmation requirements.
