Level Congressional influence between corporations and citizens with an executive order that declares lobbying illegal.

Created by R.Y. on October 26, 2011

In this information age, any Congressperson who truly earns their income by doing their homework does not need a corporate-employed professional lobbyist to court them with their pretty sales pitches filled with spin-doctoring. If corporations can only petition Congress the same way most citizens can (protests, phone calls, email, petitions, etc.) then it would level the playing field of influence between the corporations and America's actual citizens (such as all those "Occupy Wall Street" protesters). Perhaps the corporations could take the money saved from high-salaried lobbyists and hire more people to the same kind of political activism that is done by common folks. This would create more jobs, and minimize the backroom shenanigans of corporate influence by making it more transparent.
