American foster children are in dire need of our help! Recently, NPR reports 50% of foster children who "age out" end up incarcerated and less than half of "age out" foster children are employed, and nearly 60% of foster care males commit a crime. More recently, foster care has extended the “age out” age to 21, but this has not increased the preparation of life after foster care. It’s imperative that we assist in getting this issue heard and acted on by Congress. Congress should pass legislation for a mandated probationary period after foster children have aged out and entered adulthood. This probation period will consist of weekly checkups, job training and placement, and training in becoming a productive citizens and adults. WE DEMAND CONGRESS ACT NOW! OUR YOUTH NEED OUR HELP TODAY!
