Grotesque travesty of justice handed down only in the United States of America. Not China ,Russia ,nor Iran's
criminal system behave this harshly.
ACLU states, "Yet across the USA, thousands of people are serving life sentences for crimes as petty as siphoning gas from an 18 wheeler , shoplifting three belts, breaking into a parked car, or stealing a woman's bagged lunch. These sentences defy common sense. One example that perfectly highlights all the above. TIMOTHY JACKSON: serving life without parole for shoplifting a jacket worth $159 from Maison Blanche department store in New Orleans in 1996. Jackson's crime now carries a six month sentence for 1st time offenders.
