There are millions of Europeans (naturalized US citizens, permanent residents, highly skilled workers) living in US who are indefinitely deferred from blood donation unless had left EU before 1980. All of them are accepted as safe blood donors anywhere in the world except US. If their blood is considered safe in over 200 countries why should not be in the USA?
