Lift the ban on gay men donating blood!

Created by A.M. on April 23, 2013

A blood infusion is needed every 2 seconds in America. The bottom line is that there is a shortage of blood, and such a high reliability in testing the blood, that there is no reason for gays to not be allowed to donate.

Studies by The Food and Drug Administration and American Association of Blood Banks show that there are more gay men who are in committed relationships, and practice safe-sex, than there are straight men who have multiple partners and/or practice unsafe sex.

Scientists can now screen for HIV within days of infection.
In other words, with all of the new technology today, it’s perfectly safe for all Americans to donate blood. All blood donations are tested for diseases including the West Nile virus, Hepatitis B, etc. before they are distributed to the people in need.
