lift the ban on inedible objects inside confectionery (1938) so Kinder Surprise Eggs may legally be imported to the USA.

Created by S.D. on January 26, 2015

"People travelling to the US would be well advised to refrain from taking Kinder Surprise eggs with them. The chocolate eggs are illegal in the US because of a law dating back to 1938 which bans inedible objects inside confectionery. There are concerns that small children could choke on the mini-toys found inside the eggs." (Der Speigel, http://www.spiegel.de/international/world/kinder-surprise-eggs-are-illeg..., 16 April 2012)

This petition is to allow the American consumer to make smart choices for their family rather than being subjected to a law created in 1938 that removes that choice. Kinder Surprise Eggs are a delight throughout the world and it is a shame to ban them in America. Imagine giving your child a small treat including a toy for $2!
