LIFT THE BAN ON MILITARY MEMBERS LAWFULLY CARRYING A CONCEALED WEAPON IF LICENSED BY THE STATE. LET US PROTECT THE "US"

This petition is intended to shed light on a persons right to protect themselves. Two shootings have happened on military bases in 2009 and 2011. It is a well known fact that military bases are as easy of a target for terroristic events as public venues. This ban prevents those that give the most to this country from protecting themselves, their families and those civilian workers at all times. Most of the US Military receive annual training regarding the safe use and employment of firearms. When issued a state permit to carry a concealed weapon, the state has conducted such background checks that would prevent an unfit person from obtaining a CCW permit. We the military care as much about the people as we do ourselves. Not all military will choose to carry. Let us make the choice.
