Lift the Federal ban on Industrial Hemp production and allow states to make their own choice.

Created by M.M. on November 12, 2012

This petition requests that Industrial Hemp, a native plant that grows, or used to, throughout the midwest, be deregulated and allowed to be grown as an industrial crop. Its uses include rope, fabric, paper, food for humans and animals, and healthful oil. Its deregulation would allow for new small businesses and job creation. It is environmentally superior to cotton, a non-native, with much broader uses.
