Lift Network Filtering At Schools In America

With this petition it would remove the use of filtering internet at public schools. With the internet now classified as a utility shouldn't kids be able to use it's full potential? With many filtering software there is large amounts of latency created, slowly down kids ability to learn and access useful knowledge. Occasionally these filter systems block access to sites that are not harmful at all. If I am using my own computer at school and am under the age of 18 with full parental permission to access the internet unfiltered at home why can't I do the same at school? The school has the right for me not to access sites that require you to be over 18 but so do my parents. If a child's parents doesn't want them accessing sites then they can be put on a filter list of the websites.
