Lift restrictions on Nurse Practitioners that require collaborative physician agreements so as to enable access to care.

Nurse Practitioners provide equivalent care to patients compared to that of physicians. However, in rural areas where access to health care is difficult so is finding a collaborating physician for a Nurse Practitioner to work with in providing health care. More citizens will enter the health insurance mandate under Health Care Reform many of which will be in rural areas. Yet, access to care is limited. In the north west states Nurse Practitioners already practice without collaborative agreements. Because of this many patients are able to access care.
Physicians have protested Medicare by not accepting new Medicare insured patients. Nurse Practitioners will have a big impact on providing care for those left stranded by others who use peoples health as a protest for their political reasons.
