In the interest of the free market I believe that the United States should lift the importation sanctions placed on Chinese-made sporting arms and ammo and the companies who produce them. As it currently stands, Chinese companies that manufacture quality hunting and self-defense firearms and ammunition are barred from exporting their affordable products to the United States due to a sale from a single company that is still debated; because of this, the price of similar sporting arms has nearly tripled since the ban began in 2003. These sanctions serve little but to keep US manufacturers of sporting arms from growing and adapting to a market, and allows them to charge as much as they please to compete, which is why even bordering nations find it unnecessary to put these sanctions on China.
