Lift Travel Restrictions on Syrian UN Ambassador Jaafari, Restore Full US Diplomatic Ties with Syria

Created by J.J. on November 14, 2016

The Syrian American Will Association (SAWA) and its members across the US reiterate their request to the State Department to lift travel restrictions on Dr. Jaafari, Syrian Permanent Ambassador to the UN. SAWA seeks a better relationship between Syria and the US. Working together to defeat anti-humanity groups operating in Syria and to end the conflict that has been destroying Syria for over five years is in the national interest of the United States and in the global interest. Allowing Dr. Jaafari to travel would contribute to essential understanding and help bring the conflict to an end. He should be allowed to travel to meet with Syrian-Americans and the US public across the country. SAWA also asks the State Department to reopen the Syrian Consulate and restore full diplomatic ties.
