We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Lifting the ban on cannabis

Created by J.M. on May 12, 2016

Over the past four decades, support for the legalization of cannabis has been steadily increasing. In 1969 only 12 percent of the population supported the legalization of cannabis. Now the majority of the population supports the legalization of cannabis, and some polls estimate that as much as 61 percent of the population supports legalization. It is clear that there is a trend among the citizens of the United States towards greater support for the legalization of cannabis.

As a democracy, the United States has a responsibility to follow the will of the people. The people have shown that they support the legalization of cannabis so it is necessary that the federal government lifts the federal ban on cannabis. This will leave it up to the states to decide on the legal status of cannabis
