In light of the Orlando shooting, end the FDA ban on blood donations from "men who had sex with men" (or MSM)

This policy was created in the years of hate and fear of the AIDS epidemic in the 1980s. In the subsequent three decades, medical technology has substantially changed. The recent reduction to a one-year ban instead of a lifetime ban is a good step, but we must admit that the ban on MSM donating blood is rooted in hate and not in medical science. The FDA must change the policy today.
