Over the last 15 years the rate of autism prevalence has climbed from 1 in 150 to 1 in 68, a 119% increase. Boys are 5 times more likely to be identified as having autism than girls, 1 in 42 boys will be diagnosed. Research has shown that early intervention has a significant positive impact on those with autism.
In 2015, President Obama issued a proclamation recognizing world autism day as April 2, 2015 and encouraged all Americans to learn more about autism and how they can support it.
This petition asks that President Obama once again recognize world autism day on April 2, 2016 by lighting up the White House blue, sending a powerful visual signal of support to those Americans impacted by autism.
