If we are going to light up the White House for pop culture figures and civil rights advances, then surely we can light up the White House for five assassinated Dallas police officers who gave their lives keeping the rest of us safe. To do anything else is a slap in the face to all law enforcement officers, who have the watch and, for the most part, are doing their very best in an especially hostile and dangerous time.
Mr. President, we are asking you to light the White House blue for the assassinated police officers in Dallas. While you may have a different personal opinion, its the People's House and we'd like to see it blue. Given your commitment to equitable treatment of all, this is the right thing to do.
