Over 2,500 children will die of various cancers this year. 2,500 children who had barely begun to live. 2,500 who would grow to be America's leaders: teachers, doctors, soldiers, even presidents.
Over 13,000 children will be diagnosed with cancer this year. Therapies and treatments take a much greater toll on a small child than an adult. Many of those that survive will be left with a lifetime of pain and sufferent.
Less than 1% of all cancer funding goes towards childhood specific cancers. People do not give to this research because they don't know. Let's spread the word. Let's start by lighting the Whitehouse gold this September. Send President Obama the message that the American people care about the children, and the government should, too.
